Help me Obi Wan, you're my only hope!
Well, this was my day...
the guy on the right in tan with brown boots is Obi, gee, what a shocker, a Star Wars costume for Ethan this Halloween. I have been informed that we don't have the right color light saber. Obi's is blue. We have yellow and green. I refuse to buy another, so we will have an Obi with a green saber. I think he thinks he will be not authentic enough with the wrong color. Oh, well.
Finally got the pictures back from soccer. They took them at almost the last game of the season.
Have you all been carving pumpkins from my last post? Come on, now, I know you want to.
I guess that's it for now. I am going to go downstairs and organize my stuff in my NEW ISLAND!!! Woo Hoo!! Yay. I am what you call a Happy Camper!! We got a base kitchen cabinet that was in a store room and they were happy to get rid of it for cheap at one place, and the countertop from another. The top was only 5 bucks! I love, love, love it. Ethan and I like to craft together and the teeny tiny one we were using just wasn't big enough. I'll post pictures when the room is clean enough to take some.
OK, that's it this time. Nighty night. Say hi so I know you stopped by. It's awfully lonely in my blogland.
Time Sucker
OK - if you want to waste some serious time, go carve some pumpkins HERE.
MUCH neater than the real thing, but no seeds to bake :-(

No snow yet, and a few photos.
(I've been trying to post this for a few days, so this may be old info to some...)
Well, it never did snow. We had a teeny tiny bit of frost, but that's about it. Monday we had lots of rain. Luckily we went to the pumpkin patch on Sunday when it was nice. Those photos are on the camera and the battery is charging, so you're gonna have to wait 'til next time for those pictures. Sorry.
Ethan likes to sleep with a night light, but complains about the light. I have no idea what these are really for, but we have this thing that covers the eyes, but has a bunch of holes, so basically you can see, but it's not bright. He decided that he would wear them. They lasted one night. Glen thinks it was mean to take a picture, but everyone in this house knows I am camera happy, especially Ethan.
Normally I get a big cheesy grin or smirk or something like that when I take his photo. I guess he's tired of me chasing him (not literally) with the camera, but for some reason he decided to ask for his photo to be taken, Who am I to say no?
Just a random shot from a few months ago.
Well, I'll end this now since I don't have much to say. I'll try to do something interesting by the next post.
Have a great weekend!!

Will it snow tonight?
They say it might. The temps are due to go below freezing, and is has already snowed in Chicago. But they are always colder up there. I was trying to remember when it snowed first last year. I believe it was early December. It rained on Halloween, but trick-or-treating in the mall was ok, right Jude?... but there was no threat of snow. I have been told by many that last year was nothing, weather-wise. Maybe Mother Nature was breaking us in gently. It looks like this year is due to be much colder, much sooner. At least we have the snow pants and sled ready and waiting this time. Just need to get new boots for the weed. I mean kid.
A belated birthday greeting to Don. Tracie, tell him for me, 'kay?
I don't know why Blogger won't let me post photos. I'm getting annoyed. I finally have a bunch to post and I can't. Oh well, maybe next time.

Happy Columbus Day Weekend
Ethan got a 5 day weekend out of it. Well, really Monday he has off for the holiday, and he had Thursday and Friday off for parent/teacher conferences. Almost had six and a half since I was called in by the nurse to get him Tuesday for a fever and he fell asleep twice in class. He lost a tooth that night, and the next morning he was fine. He almost caught "The Tooth Fairy" but I played it off OK. As I left the room, he told me to make sure I left his door open enough so that she easily could walk in. He had previously and quite sternly told me how I "had better go to bed early so she could some at a reasonable hour."
The meeting with Ethan's teacher went well. The teacher said Ethan is well ahead of where he needs to be by the end of the year, so we just need to keep working on the writing. He gets very impatient because he thinks much faster than he writes, so it is "not as neat as it can be." He keeps asking me to teach him cursive, and I told him I would think about it if he gets neater with the printing. We'll see. He has been giving himself homework since he is bored with the class stuff. I keep finding papers with math problems that he writes for himself.
The basement is "SO CLOSE" to being done. The pictures are on the other computer, so I'll post a few next time. We have all of the painting done (I love the color - kind of a slate blue), now we just have to do the floor. We're going to do the snap-together laminate for the middle area and carpet on the stairs. We're getting Ethan's playroom set up. He got to pick the color (with our approval), which was thankfully also blue (a light blue called "favorite socks"). He originally wanted red, but when I said maybe we could do one red wall (sound familiar Tracie?) he decided against it. When he then picked blue, I asked what kind of blue, he picked navy. Again, a little too extreme for such a small basement playroom. We tried to find some posters today but all we could find of Star Wars was a Yoda poster (which we got, I was just surprised we couldn't find anything else), and the only Spongebob one we found was a poster version of a little plaque he already has from a fair for popping balloons with darts.
Soccer is over. (insert me smiling here). He was officially their best goalie, but (and I know this sounds bad or mean or whatever) one of the worst field players. He just meandered around and didn't want to get anywhere near the ball. One kick too many in the beginning just set him apart from it.
So I was watching Forensic Files earlier this week and they were doing a case of a girl who suspiciously fell off of a cliff in California. She had high amounts of a certain medication in her system. I knew the name sounded familiar. They were saying how you have to be careful with it because a regular dose can really affect a person, and too much can make a person literally fall asleep standing up. Lo-and-behold, it is the medicine I am on!! When I told the doctor I felt like a zombie, I wasn't that far off after all! I really wasn't exaggerating. She cut my dose to less than half. I need to go back next week for follow up. Yes, the medicine is helping with the headaches, but I don't want to keep taking it.
Well, Blogger won't let me post any photos anyway, so I'll try to get some next time. They all had problems while uploading. Sorry. And I'll try to not wait so long to update again so I won't be so long winded.
