Warning - boring post ahead...

but I figure I should post anyway. No new photos right now. I took some at Thanksgiving, but nothing too exciting. I wasn't feeling the greatest. I went to the doctor a few days before for a really sore throat. I literally couldn't talk, and I was coughing all night long. The doctor wasn't even sure what it was, not strep or anything like that, so I got some meds to try to stop the coughing long enough for my throat to heal. It's better now, just tired from lack or sleep, but now Ethan is sick. Not sure what he has, nice green stuff in his right eye, left is fine. His throat is red but not swollen or coughing. Just in general miserable and irritable. I guess we'll go to the doctor in the morning and he'll have an extra-long weekend. Glen is sound asleep from pain-killers for his back, which he re-injured and is in pretty bad pain. He has surgery on Thursday for his neck, so hopefully he will be able to deal with both at the same time. He can't take anti-inflammatory pills for his back with the surgery coming up, so who knows if it will get better. Oy. So, what ailments do YOU have?

Getting closer...

We now have THIS....

in the basement. Glen came home with it today. We have to let it acclimate for a few days before we can start to install it, but it's here! 23 glorious boxes of Vienna Cherry flooring. Woo Hoo!!! (It's not really red at all, not sure why they named it Cherry.)

I finally downloaded the Halloween pictures from my camera. I really didn't get any great shots. Ethan is still not into having his picture taken. First is him going up to the haunted house, for which he decided he might need his light saber. For every other house I ended up holding it. Oh, and we ended up getting a blue light saber (the correct color for Obi) the next week at the Dollar Store, so the old saying "A day late and a dollar short" is almost appropriate here. Oh, well. Next photo is him and his loot. Not bad for just going around one circle and a cul-de-sac. It's still almost all on the kitchen counter. I guess he is not much of a candy man. Probably a good thing since he has a dentist appointment on Monday.

Last photo for now is the softest blanket you will ever feel. Seriously. It is amazing. Thanks again, Aunt Jude. After I walk Ethan to the bus every morning, I come home and snuggle under it while watching Ellen. It is SOOO warm and soft.

OK, that's all for now. They say it should snow tomorrow (really this time, not like the false alarm last month), so I want to go out and get some new boots for me and Ethan. His don't fit from last year, and the zipper broke on mine.

Coming soon to a computer near you...

Ethan's blog. As in a blog written by Ethan. Apparently having this blog be about him isn't enough. What really prompted it was when I gave him our old digital camera since I got my new one. He has been running around taking pictures of everything. Let's put it this way, if you come to our house and use the bathroom, LOCK THE DOOR! No, he didn't get any of this kind of shot, but I'm sure he wouldn't think twice when he is in "photographer mode."
Here he is taking pictures of the pictures on the wall. It really is funny. So, anyway, he says he wants his own blog to post HIS pictures, so I say fine! We just have to set it up. He's still thinking of a name.

He wanted to bake a cake last week, so I had him do most of the work. It was called Orange Dreamcicle and turned out pretty yummy. Orange cake with orange jello poured into fork holes, with frosting that had a hint of orange. I know, sounds REALLY orangy, but it wasn't too much. Really.

What else... hm... oh, we found some Mr. Potato Head type things for pumpkins. They turned out kinda cute. These pumpkins were a little too small to carve anyway, so it made them much easier. Glen carved out a Superman crest on his, but I'll let him post that on his blog (actually, it is still in my camera...).

Well, I guess that's it for now. Nothing too terribly exciting. All of the Halloween decorations are put away and the fall ones are up. I went shopping for clearance Halloween yesterday, you know, preparing for next year... and the Fall stuff is even on clearance! Gotta make room for Christmas stuff. I saw my first Christmas commercial on Halloween night. Oy. I wonder when the music in the stores will change to it.
